Ostuni
Ostuni is a municipality in km.83 south of Bari. It can be reached by car via SS16 (1h + 15min.) or by bus Marozzi line (1h + 30min.). Also called White City, due to its characteristic old town, which was once entirely painted with white lime, nowadays only partially. Its territory is an integral part of southern Murgia, bordering on Salento. Renowned tourist center, from 1994 to 2017 received the Blue Flag and the five Legambiente sails for cleaning the waters of its coast and for the quality of the services offered, becoming the city with the cleanest sea in Italy. In addition, in 2005, the Apulia Region recognized the municipality as a "tourist resort". It is located on three hills at a height of 218 meters. It is located 8 km from the Adriatic coast. The Murgia, on whose south-eastern slopes the city is located, is a karst area consisting essentially of cretaceous limestone. It is therefore a rather arid area with no watercourses: in their place the so-called "blades", seasonal bed bugs, shallow grooves and steep walls. Another geological feature of the territory is the "gravine" of karstic ravines.
